Now, you would agree with us that the Nigerian educational system (public and private) is primarily built around academics and morals, which is of course the natural thing to expect. Other addendums to it include extra-curricular activities such as sports, debates, competitions etc. We definitely appreciate the fact that the system endeavours to develop pupils’ minds through academic and moral lessons and their bodies through sporting activities. However, in light of recent observations, we  have been forced to wonder “Is anyone really doing the job of raising these children’s spiritual consciousness? Who teaches them the fear of God? Or is this a task to be left to the church alone?”

We are of the opinion that the depth of spiritual indiscipline, social, behavioural and moral decadence prevalent in our secondary schools today was not built overnight. It is a ripple effect of neglect suffered by pupils from their primary school days, which later degenerated into the uncontrollable laxities that we observe today. Perhaps if someone had taken these students spiritual lives as much as serious as their academics, while they were yet pupils, they would probably have turned out differently as better students.

It is therefore, with a view to nipping this evil in the bud, that we have been mandated by  God to stand in the gap with the sole aim of feeding, watering, nurturing and growing their minds and spirits simultaneously during holidays.

Approaching their education in this manner, we are full of hope that they would later turn out differently from what obtains now.

The plan is that during school holidays (long and short), a free week long spiritual program organized by The Global Harvest Mandate will be sandwiched into the normal holiday coaching and will be held in a central place where parents can bring their children on a daily basis to be in attendance and enjoy the Lord for a whole week. The program will be packed with impactful, insightful and captivating series of activities tailored to enrich the participants’ lives. They would be ranging from the word to prayers, to music and musical instruments classes, talent discovery and so many other memorable activities that would see the participants yearning for more. This will go pari passu with their regular holiday coaching.

By His grace we are already running this program, it’s maiden edition was held on the 21st to 23rd  of April, 2017 at The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Holy Nation, Likosi Ogun State and subsequent one at Shallomite event centre also in Ogun state. Students turnout/attendance in the program was very encouraging.

As this program gains ground and draws more attendance, boarding facilities would be provided to accommodate pupils that would be attending from distant states, together with their parents or guardians.
